was the founding abbot of The Monastery Academy for Conscious Evolution and Co-Creation, a virtual community of co-creators called into being to open pathways to the next stage of human evolution. He is also the author of several books – see list.
The fundamental premise of Michael's work is that while Homo sapiens now seemingly faces the likelihood of extinction (or at least the premature curtailment of our evolutionary potential), this decade is the very moment in human history when we as a species can at last learn to directly co-create with the Angelic Presence to birth a New Humankind. The initial project of this "Cosmic Moral Society" is to transform Earth into a conscious biosphere, a contagious sacred center of aliveness in a largely barren universe.
Towards this end, The Monastery Academy recruits, trains, and supports emerging evolutionary catalysts and bodhisattvas, offering such courses as A Deeper Calling, Wrestling with the Angel, and The Path of Co-Creation.
A pioneer in the relocalization movement, Michael was also the founder of Transition Colorado (the first officially recognized Transition Initiative in North America) and organized Local Food Shift, a multimillion-dollar decades-long campaign to build a regional food system in the Front Range of Colorado.
Michael was based in Stelle, Illinois, a rural prairie village of 100 people (previously an intentional spiritual community)..
