The Crystal Visionary

In 1985, after a visionary experience I had (read about it here), and after starting to meditate with a few crystals, I felt inspired to start a magazine to share research and open up global networking. The magazine grew rapidly around the world - even though it was before exposure via internet and the world wide web – aka the information superhighway. It was a homespun publication first created on a typewriter with text and images on paper and I enjoyed doing the cover montages. Then, later on in 1987, the book was done on an early Macintosh computer on Pagemaker #1.

Various new articles will appear and the magazine will be available for a small membership fee – of course with some free articles to start with. Eventually, the entire book with all contents included will be published. As we go, single magazine issues will be able to be purchased too. These will include scans of the original pages - and the text articles.

The future of The Crystal Visionary is starting to take shape with various people involved. New articles, interviews, meditations and much more will become available to our members. Stay tuned for news on all that. It has been a long time goal to make this publication on the web... it's finally coming alive again!

The genesis of this project began many decades ago... it is being revived here in a "web" format. The original magazine articles were complied into a book (cover on left) and they will be presented here on the web... over time.

It all sprang from a two month spiritual expansion program... a meditation course called "Openings" led by Adam Davis in Sydney, Australia mid 80's. It was more than a meditation course... more like a powerful initiation. At another course graduation, a few months later, I settled into a visionary state during a ceremonial meditation and suddenly found myself inside an enormous, tall clear quartz crystal cathedral – six sides forming the walls with space enough inside to contain many people... I felt small in there.

As I moved around in this space I soon looked up to the high apex of the crystal. Clearly and slowly, as I looked up, a vibrant rainbow came to land on the crystal point. As it did all the colours flowed down through the expanse in the room into my visionary being standing there. I have no further memories now but I suppose I stayed in that space till the end of the meditation.

After THAT I suddenly had the urge to seek out these magical beings - crystals. I found one of the few people who were importing a range of gemstones and quartz. After first meeting at a market, I visited his flat near a beach in Sydney and perused a small selection of various types – amethyst and mostly clear quartz. I resonated with a couple of these and bought them... and that led to a long journey which included my becoming friends with Naren as he was known then... who later established The Crystal Castle in Mullumbimby, NSW, Australia.
